PortVision Selected as Enterprise Portal for Maritime Traffic Analysis within MarView Platform by the U.S. Department of Transportation Maritime Admi
SAN DIEGO (Business Wire EON) August 7, 2008 -- MarView users will be able to tap into the 1.5 billion record data warehouse maintained by PortVision. The data warehouse includes individual vessel location reports for AIS-enabled vessels, as well as vessel arrivals, departures and passings for major ports and waterways across North America. MarView users will be able to leverage PortVision's animated playback feature to analyze historical vessel movements in support of policy development, incident analysis, vessel tracking, and other requirements key to the Maritime Administration's mission. Users also will be able to access PortVision's business intelligence reporting to gain key insight into vessel and terminal activities.
"The Maritime Administration was seeking a solution to add maritime business intelligence and data analytics within the MarView portal," said Louis Effa, Maritime Administration Chief Information Officer. "The capabilities and ease-of-use of the PortVision platform will provide our users with unprecedented access to valuable maritime transportation data."
