Dream Team of Speakers Slated for Atlanta Women's Leadership Development Conference

About Glenda Hatchett
Atlanta's own, Glenda Hatchett presides over TV's "Judge Hatchett" (Sony Pictures Television), and is author of national best-seller, "Say What You Mean, Mean What You Say" (HarperCollins). Her career progressed from a clerkship in the U.S. Federal Courts, to Delta Air Lines, where she served as the company's highest-ranking African-American woman. Her contributions at Delta earned her Ebony Magazine's "100 Best and Brightest Women in Corporate America." After Delta she became Georgia's first African-American Chief Presiding Judge of a state court and the department head of one of the largest juvenile court systems in the country (Fulton County). Her commitment to excellence and community service has lead to recognition as a distinguished alumnus of Mt. Holyoke College and Emory University School of Law, where she received the Emory Medal. She has served on the Boards of Gap, Inc. and The Service Master Company . Presently, Hatchett is a board member of the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and the Atlanta Falcons Football Organization and is the mother of two sons.

About Colonel Eileen Collins
In 2005, Collins was the first woman to command an American spacecraft, leading Space Shuttle Discovery's historic "Return to Flight" mission. Recognized as one of America's most admired women, Collins became an astronaut in 1991, piloting two shuttle missions prior to her command. Her experiences as a test pilot and astronaut began with her childhood dream to fly -- a dream she has more than attained. She has received many honors including a Defense Superior Service Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, French Legion of Honor, NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal, and the 2005 Al Neuharth Free Spirit of the Year Award. In 2006, Collins received the National Space Trophy, commenting, "My dream, now, is that people will discover and invent new ways to fly higher, faster, and farther, and that someday humans will travel beyond our solar system." She retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2005 as a colonel, having logged more than 872 hours in space.
